About GreenCardClock

Community First

Built to help the immigrant community access clear, transparent government data. Free tools for everyone — Pro features for those who want the full picture.

Our Story

The U.S. employment-based immigration system is complex and data-heavy. Millions of skilled workers on employment visas face green card backlogs stretching decades — yet the data to understand and navigate this system is scattered across government PDFs, quarterly Excel files, and monthly bulletin pages.

GreenCardClock was built to solve that challenge. As immigrants ourselves navigating the EB green card process, we spent countless hours manually downloading visa bulletin PDFs, cross-referencing USCIS processing times, and working through DOL wage data in raw Excel files. We realized that if we needed better tools for this — despite being comfortable with data — millions of others did too.

So we built the tool we wished existed: a single platform that aggregates all publicly available immigration data — USCIS I-485 inventory reports, State Department visa bulletins, DOL OFLC LCA filings — and makes it searchable, visualizable, and actionable. All the data, in one place. Clear answers about where you stand.

We believe that better data access leads to better decisions, whether you're evaluating a job offer, planning your family's future, or just trying to understand where you are in line.

Our Mission

GreenCardClock exists to make immigration data transparent and accessible. The U.S. government publishes a wealth of information about visa processing, employer sponsorship, and green card timelines — but it's spread across dozens of agencies, file formats, and update schedules. We bring it all together in one place.

Every tool on this platform is built on 100% public government data. We provide estimates based on historical trends — not guarantees. The core tools are free and always will be, because we believe access to public data shouldn't be gated behind a paywall.

What We Offer

Immigration Tracker — Estimated green card timelines based on historical visa bulletin data, USCIS case status tracking, self-reported case milestones from the community, petition stage tracking, and consular processing updates.

Career Intelligence — Search 960,000+ employer-filed LCA salary records, benchmark your offer against real DOL data, analyze employer sponsorship histories, find H-1B and green card sponsors, and evaluate the impact of job changes on your immigration timeline.

Resources — Curated attorney directory, daily policy news and alerts sourced from official RSS feeds, links to primary government data sources, and educational blog content about the immigration process.

All data is sourced from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL OFLC disclosure files), U.S. Department of State (travel.state.gov visa bulletins), and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (egov.uscis.gov). Data is refreshed on a monthly or quarterly basis depending on the source.

Our Values

Transparency — Every number on GreenCardClock comes from a verifiable government source. We clearly label all estimates and always attribute data to its official origin.

Accuracy over hype — We use qualified language throughout the platform: "estimated," "approximate," "based on historical trends." We will never promise you an approval date or guarantee an outcome. Immigration timelines depend on many factors outside anyone's control.

Privacy first — We don't sell user data. Case tracker receipt numbers are stored locally in your browser, not on our servers. We use Google Analytics with Consent Mode v2 and give you full control over cookie preferences.

Community driven — Features like GC Peer Timelines and the Work Permit Journey tracker are powered by voluntary, self-reported data from the immigrant community. This crowdsourced layer adds real-world context that government data alone cannot provide.
